ITV HD Playback Freezes

Hi, I have noticed that whenever I record anything on ITV HD, recently xfactor, and play it back, it often will freeze and I have to cancel out and go back into it for it to play. Im not recording anything else at the same and thought it must be my equipment but a few mates have also experienced the same problems.

Any ideas?

Same here.

PIN required on daytime records - blue screen on playback - freezing on playback.

Always on ITV1HD recordings.

When I had the problem blue screen, it didn't ask for a PIN, so it's nothing to do with the PIN. See the following threads over on AV Forums:

Some ITV1HD programmes are also appearing twice for future recordings in my planner.

I phoned up itv this afternoon to ask why itv hd won't play back (blue screen) as reported by others on here and on AV Forums. They said phone sky so I did. I went through some pointless procedures and it still happened. I demonstrated that it doesn't happen on the other 4 HD channels I can receive on my sub. Sky are going to call me back, and have offered me half price sky talk line rental for 6 months as compensation for the inconvenience.

Sky called me back the same day and said the blue screen problem when playing back recordings from ITV1 HD is a known issue.
This seems to have been fixed as of today.

Would that be "fixed" for new recordings or for programmes already recorded as well, because I have only just discovered that my recording of Downton Hall, episode 2, made last Sunday won't play. But the repeat of episode 1 recorded that afternoon played OK.

New recordings. There is always ITV Player though for anything you may have missed prior to the fix.

Actually, just noticed episode 2 of Downton to be repeated next Sunday afternoon.
