HD Amstrad box problem

Hi - first post...first problem

Had Sky+HD installed on Friday and i've had the 250GB Amstrad DRX890 box.
No issues at first, but I am now experiencing picture flickering and, much more commonly, jumps and interuptions in sound which severly spoil the viewing experience.

Am going to phone Sky to see what they think but wanted to know if you guys know why it's doing this.

Is it definately a problem with the box?
Has it been installed properly?
If Sky offer a new box do I ask for an Amstrad one again?

Thanks

Re: HD Amstrad box problem

did the installer not leave a card with his number? I would not want a older box, as they smaller hdd and the box it self is larger. You could always state the sale of goods act

Re: HD Amstrad box problem

Will have to check if he left a card with his number. I know he lives round the corner from me though!

Installer mentioned I got lucky with having 250GB box, is it only Amstrad who have manufactured these? Would definately not want a replacement to be of less HDD storage and bigger size. I'll give it a few days and see if problem persists, then i'll give Sky a ring.

Or pop round the installers house...

Re: HD Amstrad box problem

Just to follow on from this...

Have had this problem for a week now, and it's really affecting my enjoyment of HD. I don't get screen flashes or sounds interuptions whilst playing Xbox or watching a DVD so it's def Sky.

Rung them earlier and they ran me through Sky+HD Rebuild, which didn't help. Then said they couldnt get a date up on screen for when to send an engineer so told me phone back tmrw!!

Think I would be out of line asking for a discount on my first bill because of all this..??
