Virgin media epg banner vs Sky Epg banner

Virgin media has an option where you enter the channel no. without the tv flicking to that channel.
You have to press select after entering the channel no. This method is far better.

I wonder if Sky will be adding this feature to the new epg in the near future?

I can't think why, surely the less buttons you have to press to change the channel the better. Or am I missing something?

I meant that you can see the program info of that channel without having to flick to that channel. This way I can carry on watching the channel that I'm on.

Ahh, I am with you now. With Sky you have to go to the TV guide and then you only have the mini TV to watch while you check other channels. I can see how it might be useful, but it is still another button to press when you are changing channel normally. I don't know if its usefullness would outweigh the inconvenience.

All you have to do is either use your favourites( assuming you have programmed it)blue button, or the up/down buttons to move to other channel, then using the left right buttons you can examine the schedule.

There is a far quicker method to have this feature, all you need is a phone. Ring Sky, cancel, then ring Virgin and offer beardy Branson your debit card details... Jobsaguddun!!!

/sarcasm.

Wouldn't want this on the EPG, you could just turn to that channel, and if there's nothing on you could press the blue button to return to what you were watching, or scroll up the channels, or use the TV guide.

I still think that this method is far better.
