yes the reomote does work ok. I can switch the TV on with it and control the volume ok, but dont know if I can channel change as I cant get any channels on the TV. I have carried out the back up from the Digibox a couple of times and that downloaded ok, but no difference to the box I still only get the Sky Guide and nothing else .

BUT can you change channels with the + and - buttons on the digibox itself?

If no luck then this indicates a box problem, hopefully just its software, so force a software update by holding down box's "backup" button (crescent shaped button on top of box) for 10 seconds and then switch on again. I think people here then suggest powering off at mains and switching back on, not sure if that makes a difference....

If that fails, then sadly it has become a dodgybox

I have carried out the back procedure twice successfully, and no, I cannot change channels with the digibox + and - buttons nor with the remote. I have reprogammed the remote just to make sure its ok and it does switch the TV on and changes the volume setting ok, but still cannot get to the channels using it . As you say , looks like it has become a dodgybox !

Reboot it at the mains with only the tv connected via HDMI. No scart.

Do this before confining it to Sky heaven (or is that hell?).

(Also contrary to folklore, sky support are quite helpful, go through things systematically and worth a call).
