It does if it's your company, you need to keep growing and there is less chance of loosing a current subscriber than not convincing a new one to sign up.

Also, we were all new once and got the deal of the day then. Much better to keep filling your new orders and get more people subscribing and the customer base growing than to discount an already "nearly" guaranteed current charge.

      That's business

I did not mention deal of the day, and in fact didnt get a deal as i was one of the very early people to sign up. It does not worry me that people get deals other than the fact that some people seem to get them and others dont unless they say they are going to leave, and in any case this has nothing to do customer care, which is what this thread is about.

It's not impossible for large companies to look after their longstanding customers. I have BT Broadband. I've renewed each year for the last two years because they offered me a reduction. This morning, I renewed for another year - this time a 5 per month reduction, to around 19/month. OK, not the cheapest, I know, but I'm not minded to go through the hassle of swapping ISP's all over again.

Unlike Sky, BT have stiff competition, you see. That's why they look after their existing customer base.
