The new telly's a (ahem) Sense 42" 1080p LCD from the "Happy-Joy-luck" company China. Picked it up from Ebuyer for £548. Don't laugh, now. I bought the old Samsung when the xbox360 came out and after all the picture issues its had and the fact it cost me £799 I've sworn never to buy another branded TV again.

It is and not needed, or something that anyone should consider with a new plasma panel. Technology has moved on.

Fear of plasma screen burn shouldn't be a factor when considering whether to go LCD or plasma. It's about the picture and in my opinion plasma still wins hands down. YMMV.
