      HDMI output cutting out.

Just had a Thomson box installed on Saturday.

On Sunday, Monday and twice today the HDMI output has cut out.

If I cycle though my Panasonic Plasma (37PX70) the RGB scart output is still working and the HD box is obviously still working.(ie not gone into auto standby as the green on light doesn't change to red....I've switched auto standby off anyway!)

When I then return to the HDMI input (via my TV remote) the signal has returned.

Previously I was using the same lead and input for my DVD recorder with no such problems so it appears the box has a glitch.

To check further I tried using another HDMI cable but the fault remained.

Anyone else had such a fault?

Not had the same issues, fortunately.

Ring Sky and get them to come out and check it for you. At the end of the day, it should just work for you.

      Thanks for the prompt reply.

The guy who installed the box (a SKY man not a subcontractor) left an official card with his mobile number which says if I have any problems (within the first 30 days after install) to call him in the first instance.

I was intending to call in the morning.

Probably best to do that, as if you ring Sky, he will have to wait 30 days before he gets paid from when he last came out.

Are you saying that the TV is connected to the sky box by both Scart & HDMI ? If so, and although it should not matter, try unplugging the Scart.

The Thomson and Pace both work perfectly with my Panasonic TV. (PZ700 I think).

      Re: HDMI output cutting out.

Had the box replaced today so we'll see how the new box performs.

The reason for the scart connection was to loop through my dvd recorder in order to archive some programmes rather than store on th HD box.
