There an extra cost, you only get premium channels in HD if you subscribe to the package that they are on.

      Re: HD Mix

You would only get the HD Sports channels with the Sports package.

ie. If you have Sports then with the HD subscription, you would then get the HD channels of that package as well.

Whatever package you sign up for you get the HD channels that go with it.

If you have movies, you get the HD movie channel

If you have sports you get the HD sports channel and so on.

And he's right!! Because since I have Sky World TV Package - including all 6 mixes, both Sports & Movies packages. When the 2 engineers came to my house last week Tuesday to install 2 Sky+ HD boxes & moving my existing Sky+ box to another room. After they left, my 2 Sky+ HD boxes shows all both Movies and Sports HD channels, as well with other HD channels without any problems. I think Sky have added Movies & Sports HD channels automatically onto my HD Mixes, as I have Sky World TV package previously and still do. I'm very happy that I have the full 19 HD channels and soon more HD channels are coming around Oct 2008.

My friend has the old Thomson Sky HD box with HD Mix but only Sports HD channels, because he has only Sports Mix packages with only 2 mixes - Variety + Style & Culture (37 - only 10 less than mine), but didn't have the movies package or Sky World package like me and he didn't like spending 10 a month extra for only 13 HD channels out of 19. I keep on telling him that if you want all 19 HD channels, you must either have Sky World package like me or have both Movies & Sports packages with 3 (or 4) mixes - Variety, Style & Culture & Knowledge which is 45.

But to me, whats 2 extra?? - Nothing! I better off getting the complete Sky TV package, very usefully for if his kids come round to mine, they can watch Cartoons or anything they want to watch except movies rated 12 or above because the PIN is on, while my brother can watch MTV Base or anything he wants to watch as well.

      Re: HD Mix

      Hi

I currently have multiroom with 1 sky + box and 1 sky hd box. I pay 10 for the multiroom and 10 for the hd service on top of my usual subscription. If i was to upgrade my sky + box to another Sky hd box would i have to pay a second hd subscription?

      Re: HD Mix

Yes, seems a bit of a rip off to me as the deal for multiroom is supposed to mirror your existing card but if you want HD content you pay 10 for each one + your multiroom subscription.
