20 New Sky+ HD Channels to be added?

We have been tipped off that there are to be 20 more HD channels added, in the not too distant future.

No confirmation of whether or not these 20 channels would include the recently announced Movie channels, and we will attempt to gain more information asap.

Sounds good but as you say let us wait for confirmation. Do Sky realise that a lot of customers are not that interested in watching movies all the time ? Stating the bleeding obvious but the way to get many people upgrading to HD is to have non-Sky channels onboard.

I only got HD because of a failing Sky+box, LNB and cables = it made it good value. However several friends have been round to my house and said 'fantastic pictures, but there is not much in HD that I actually watch'. Sky - take note.

tvrman - completely agree.

HD looks good but most programmes are just as acceptable in SD. A few exceptions - for example the recent BBC "Britain from Above". But the brain quickly adjusts to the difference, and after a short time viewing it's the content that really counts - for the vast majority of viewers.

A minor update from our sources.

MGM, Disney and UKTV are apparently all quite doubtful. There's 4 film channels coming first.

Got fedup after 12months of rubbish for £10 pm no longer have subs to HD.

We have had an unofficial reply to our question that we asked Sky, regarding these extra 20 channels.

Yes we are working on bringing our customers even more new HD channels, I can’t say how many at present, but I can promise that I will keep you updated and that the HD team will issue a post when new channels are announced.

As this was not the final answer, due to time constraints, we would still assume this to be unofficial until we hear more.
