      Question Sky HD crashes?

      Hi,

Apologies if similar questions have been asked before... only just discovered the forum.

Had Sky HD for just a few weeks and have had problems tonight. Things seem Ok then box seems to have crashed 3 times. On two occasions it was whilst fast-forwarding through a recorded programme, on the third occasion it was just whilst selecting a programme on the tv guide.

First the picture freezes (though blue lights still spinning) then the picture is lost entirely with the box seemingly switching itself off - red light on - but refusing to turn back-on. On third occasion only the picture was lost with the sound still opration ?!?

In each case the only thing that got the box wroking again was a power-down at the wall-socket.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Incidentally, box is well ventilated, doesn't seem to be hot or have an electricallly shorted case. As I speak it's happily playing a programme but I have no idea how long it's going to run for?

      Cheers,

      Batroost

      Re: Sky HD crashes?

My box has had quite a few quirks, all i can suggest is doing a planner rebuild every now and again.

From memory go in to services menu, then press 4, 0, 1 and enter the option should then show.

This seems to sort out my box (for a while anyway) note this does not lose your recordings

      No, it's [services] 401 [select]

Your problem might be due to power supply capacitors. When you have an hour to spare, read this:
