Hello, right then i tried joining sky a while back and despite having a bt bill in my hand their system was adamant i wasn't anyway they tried my mac but it failed so i gave up and left it at that.
A friend has sky max and is very happy so a couple months later i tried again, spoke to a lovely guy called douglas, a bit over apologetic if anything im assuming customers can be hair raising at their end, i already had the sagem router so threw a new mac his way, did his usual t&c spiel and offering to text me when connected though i didn't need this as it's rather obvious when lol.
Anyway been connected since today and these are my current stats.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10269 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 36 db 9.5 db
Noise Margin 7 db 17 db
Upload should be a good bit higher, i was 100kbps higher on regular dsl so im sure it'll settle down.
Now my previous isp was adsl24 so an enta reseller, from what i can tell when surfing pings are slightly slower but page requests are much faster making surfing quite pleasurable, so far im a happy bunny and can see myself staying for quite some time.
