Thumbs up Moved from pipex

Hi guys, just moved from pipex to MAX everything went very smoothly migrated in 10 days, Sagem router arrived two days before activation and all works very well.

A quick note for what may appear obvious but the wireless key is CASE SENSITIVE could have saved myself 20 mins if I had realised earlier

Router stats :-

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 14699 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 21.5 db 12.3 db
Noise Margin 6.3 db 16.5 db

Seem to be getting about 11mb download so very happy

Gary

Re: Moved from pipex

When it works it works great...

for some unknown reason we do become attached to providers i have noticed on that other well known forum people defending their provider if anyone says bad things about them call them fanboys or whatever, you are paying for a service much like gas or electric or any other utility service supply and if it don’t work bin them and move on...

Re: Moved from pipex

Yeah , it's sad to see the way Pipex has gone.

I got my first broadband connection (0.5Mbps) from them way back in 2002 - they were pretty much the ADSL pioneers then.

I was loyal to them until last July, never had problems but started to get a bad feeling about the direction they were heading - on reflection I feel that I got out just in time.

So here I am on Sky Mid for £5 a month, getting roughly double the speed (of my previous Pipex 2Mbps connection) and double the monthly usage limit (had 20GB per month from Pipex) and saving myself £13 a month into the bargain!

(Well not exactly saving money, as I've "invested" the monthly saving back into Sky's pockets by upgrading my TV package to include Sports...)

Re: Moved from pipex

It's a shame the way Pipex have gone. I was with them for 5 years and I have to say I never had a problem, always a good rock solid connection. Only reason I jumped ship was because they sold out to Tiscali. I do get better speeds with sky plus it's cheaper so all's good

Re: Moved from pipex

yep, my swap went well, was with pipex for 4 years but consistently poor service over the last year, then loosing connection alltogether when they moved my connection onto the tiscali llu was the final straw.
