Just got connected

Just got connected to sky on the estimated activation date and everything went smooth. I could have set the router up with my eyes closed and it connected right off the bat. Set the wireless to channel 11 and get excellent signal all over the house and setting wireless sucurity was easy. Using 2 xp desktops and a vista laptop and all took a mere 25 seconds to connect.

Only thing is with my old netgear router my line attenuation was on 16 and as you can see its now 20 which is quit annoying(should be synching at 16 meg) . But all in all very smooth migration from Entanet.

Sagem Router stats(i am using the XTE-2005 Faceplate and its friggin sweet):

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15323 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 8.3 db
Noise Margin 13.6 db 16.0 db

EDIT: (Since being connected for about 1 hour my noise margin has gone up, hopefully wont get any dropouts with my noise margin)

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 15323 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 8.3 db
Noise Margin 15.8 db 16.0 db

Sky Broadband is sweet!!!!!!!!!!
I will see what xbox live gaming is like later on, hopefully should be smooth.

EDIT: Just connected my xbox 360 using the official wireless adapter and it took another mere 15 seconds to connect. Signal is FULL and im up in the loft, which is even better than my old DG834G router signal. This is great

EDIT:

Started downloading a file using " internet download manager" (the best download manager out there) and look at the rapid fire speed i got!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT:
First speed test from speedtest.net

Re: Just got connected

you wont sync at 16Mbps as the delays are limiting it - get these changed to 8s and it'll read 16382 (or there abouts)

Re: Just got connected

settings delays would lower the pings yes but prob not is ur case - personally i don't see any point in risking them capping you for no reason (which WILL happen unless you get someone on the phone first time) - sounds like you want to sync at 16Mbps for bragging rights, it won't do any more to ur download speeds

also, you're SO not on Base package - best change that in ur profile...
