      Nope.
Neither Sky Player, MSN Video or Search appear on the screen. And no matter what I do, I can;t get Media Center to download them.
The guide is there, showing what channels are available, but if I click on any of them, nothing.
They were all available & working pre hard drive change & Win 7 re-load, courtesy of insurance company's "qualified representatives"

I think that may be the Live TV EPG which is not part of Sky Player. Sky Player shows thumbnails, like the pic in my last post. You could try running this Win 7 Fix tool, which includes a Media centre option and if the options still don't show, try another update.
Repair & Fix Windows problems with FixWin Utility | The Windows Club

You should have an initial menu screen like the attached pic.

      Isitme,
Thanks for the link. Downloaded it & ran the Media Center "flush & re-build tool", re-started laptop, re-ran download in Media Center & guess what ?...............exactly the same.
No Sky Player or MSN tile present.
Checked Media Center update log for details & it's exactly the same every time (as can be seen on original post). Everything seems to be running smoothly until the errors appear at the end.

Re: Sky Player on WMC Windows 7

Many people have had problems with this, I had nothing but problems until one day it just suddenly started working, most likely due to a patch from MS.

After the SP1 was done it now has been broken again for me.

I don't know if me or the OP have the same problem but I assume a patch will once again be done.

The only advice I can give the OP is that keep trying once in a while and who knows MS may get it working again.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

You are certain all your settings are for UK? This article shows what must be adjusted and what may be wrong. - Sky Player in Windows Media Center Extension - Rathe's Media Center Blog

To reset WMC go to the Control Panel, Programs and features and click the Turn Windows features on or off, scroll down and expand Media features and untick Windows Media Centre. Click OK accept the warnings and reboot. Do the same in reverse to re-enable.

      Yep,
Done all that. All settings definitely for UK, Including setting strCountryCode value in registry to GB.
Interestingly, if strCountryCode value is set to <<NULL>> or GB, I get a "Guide Download Error" when I do a manual download in Media Center. However, if it's set to UK, download is ok

      Ok, this is getting sillier.
I've just checked the Media Center update log for the last update. This was done with the strCountryCode set to UK.

The area highlighted red seems to indicate that Sky Player, MSN Video & ITN Search have been downloaded sucessfully, but they still don't bloody show up!!

Undecided Adrian - Yes, I would probably agree with you about SP1 being a factor, except that my other laptop, that had Sky Player on it already, got the SP1 download a couple of nights ago & is still working fine.

      I'm lost!!

Have you tried going to the manufacturers site and downloading and installing the latest Graphics drivers? Don't trust Windows when it says they are up to date.

Re: Sky Player on WMC Windows 7

If you have a full Win 7 install disk you could try doing a Repair install. Somehow or other it looks like the 'experts' who reinstalled your laptop have messed it up, running a Repair may fix it. I am not sure if the restore feature included with your laptop can do a non-destructive repair. Some can and others have to wipe everything
