Re: Email alternatives

I have Yahoo and Hotmail accounts, but can only personally recommend Yahoo out of the two (though I'm sure there are plenty of better ones mentioned).

I've had a domain, e-mail and webhosting with 1&1 for 6 years - recently scrapped the hosting to just have the domain and mail. Can use as webmail or configure Outlook Express to go through 1&1's smtp, imap and pop as required. You can also configure spam settings and antivirus on the addresses (think it's up to five accounts on the basic package).

Re: Email alternatives

I've been using GAFYD (now just plain Google Apps - here) for some months now. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone wanting a solid, reliable and most importantly portable email service. The addition of calendar, docs and spreadsheets, custom start page, and a web page application, means that, in my opinion, it is simply unbeatable.

My advice... get yourself a domain name from Go Daddy (or use one you already own) and sign up for Google Apps today!

Re: Email alternatives

I have started to use the mail service from DynDNS.com.
They provide an outbound mail server for $17.00 (including $2.00 setup fee)
which allows a maximum of 150 miles to be sent a day.

Just bought the service today and works fine! Fantastic! Very easy to setup and works instantly.

Wink Re: Email alternatives

OK, You can add your external e mail accounts to sky by following the below:

What you have to do is go to your sky main user mail account, click on mail settings, click on Accounts, Click add another e mail address. follow the on screen instructions, wait for e mail to verify that the account you have set up is yours and hey presto your mails sent will have the right e mail account on!!!

this will allow you to send mail from your Windows mail using whichever e mail address you choose

Re: Email alternatives

I use gmail purely for its spam filtering and archiving features. Mail is then forwarded to my GMX.COM account where I access it via pop3.
