This is for Outlook Express 6:

    Tools > Accounts > Mail Tab > Add...Mail

Input your Sky supplied Username and Password here:

    Mail on Mac OSX:

When you launch Mail for the first time, or when you are adding a new account, you will see the New Account Window. Set the Account type to "POP3".

Account Description can be whatever you wish.

Enter your name, then your email address, then click Continue.

Enter your incoming mail server and your Sky username.

Enter your password if you wish. Click Continue. Mail will attempt a connection to the mail server to check the validity of the server and ID.

Use the following SMTP server information. No password needed.

You will see a verification screen where you can verify that your information is correct. Once you have verified your information, you will see the following screen. Click Done, and you're ready to go.

    Cannot connect

Thanks for the tutorial, but when I try to send and receive using OE I get the error:

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop.sky.com', Server: 'pop.sky.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

    Any ideas?

You haven't ticked secure password authentication have you?

I just tested it and works fine for me. Also double check your username/password.

    Welcome to the site Somebody

I think thats just what he means I have also tried to access the mail with no luck so I guess I will have to wait until I am activated on Thursday to try again not that I will ever use the sky email system.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

    Greetings to you too, Wheelie.

My activation date is the 7th also! Ordered on Bank Holiday Monday (28th), received my router and letters today.

I won't be using the sky email much either, but just in case Sky send further correspondence.

Just changed the Netgear router wireless settings to exactly the same as my current settings so hopefully it will literally be plug and play next Thursday.
