I.m on Outlook 2003. The upgraded tools portal site was working okay for me but Outlook kept repeatedly asking for my username/password. However if you are having any POP problems , inc my problem, go to this link and you will be sorted

I HAVE been transferred to Google, and I have activated POP in my email settings. I have followed the instructions exactly for changing my existing Sky account - changing pop.sky.com and smtp.sky.com to pop.tools.sky.com and smtp.tools.sky.com, and changing the port numbers to 465 (SMTP) and 995 (POP3). For both I have ticked "This server requires a secure connection (SSL). My username and password are unchanged, according to Sky, so I haven't changed them. Now I can't send or receive amy email, though I had no problems before. I get the attached error message. I am using Outlook 2003. Any suggestions anyone can make would be gratefully received.

Sorry, I used the wrong phrase - I meant my email address has not changed. I should have said that I have indeed changed my username to add "@sky.com", to match my email address. So everything is as Sky says it should be. But I still can't send or receive mail.
I am also using Mailwasher, and have changed all the settings there, too. And when I run it, I get the attached error message. So that makes it unaanimous - whichever way I try, I can't get my email through Outlook. I'd be grateful if you have any other ideas.

Some users have reported success after using this link

whilst others have had some success simply by resetting their password via the Sky portal (don't forget to change the password in Outlook and anywhere else you have set it up if you try this)
This might possibly be of some help as well

Thanks for your swift reply. I have spent the last 5 minutes trying to access https://www.google.com/a/sky.com/UnlockCaptcha, but without success. I tried the username and password that Sky gave me, with and without @sky.com after the username, and I have tried my separate Google username and password. Either I am told that the username and password don't match, or the sign-in page simply refreshes and I have to start again. I'm pretty certain I have not received any other username/password from Sky, so I'm lumbered.
Secondly, how would I check whether I have Office SP3? Sorry to take up your time, but this is driving me bananas. Why couldn't they just leave well alone - I was getting my email fine till they "improved" the system.

Just open Outlook at the top click help and from the dropdown menu select About Microsoft Outlook it tells you what version you have etc

Yes, I changed the port - sorry, I should have said. If I'm not taking up too much time and space (and because it might help someone else), I cam show you exactly what happens.
First I made the settings in screenshot Email settings 01.jpg (first half of my username blanked out). Then I pressed More settings, and adjusted them as seen in screenshots 02, 03, 04 and 05, and then clicked OK. I then pressed Test Account Settings, at which point I got the Internet Security Warning in 06. So I clicked Yes, and "Send test message" Failed, followed by the same Internet Security Warning. So I clicked Yes again, and was prompted for my user name and password (07). This has happened before, and I know what comes next. I click on OK, and the prompt returns; I click on OK, and the prompt returns; I click on OK . . . but you get the picture: the prompt just keeps coming back. All I can do is X out of the prompt to close it. Then I get the final error message in 08. So I close that, and I'm back at the beginning - unable to send or receive email. Help!
PS: I can only attach 5 screenshots. I will try to upload the other three in another message.
