Sorry for the delay. I have just done a quick test and all appears to be fine here.

I haven't seen anything posted in the private forums mentioning any issues and I have also looked at the Sky forums to see if there was any major problems earlier today either.

Apart from a handful of threads where different people have had problems, there is nothing that I would say to show is as a major issue.

So it sounds like it was a glitch.

Could I suggest that you check again and if that doesn't work, visit the Sky.com website and log into you email account there.

Still down. Cannot send e-mails from either PC or iPhone.

Can't log into web mail: "There is a problem with your account". About to investigate...

      Edit:
Apparently our Sky e-mail has been deactivated, according to the help line. This could be because of excess spam. Would be nice if they talked to us first, my housemate relies on sending e-mails for her business!

The Sky Go app on the phone is also not working and we can't log into the Account or E-mail pages on the Sky web site.

Account has been reinstated but may take up to 24 hours to become useable again...

      Grrrr.

Sorry, but she should be using a paid service. Sky broadband is for domestic use only.
      (a) Sky Broadband is for private use by you and members of your household only. It must not be used for any activities not reasonably expected of someone using Sky Broadband for domestic purposes.
Sending an excessive amount of emails will be seen a 'spam' and the service can be terminated -
      (h) To protect our network and maintain quality of service for all our users we can temporarily or permanently control or restrict your online activities via Sky Broadband where such activities may have a detrimental effect on other customers' quality of service and it is reasonable for us to do so (e.g. sending "spam" Messages).

She doesn't send "excessive amounts" she sends relatively few, and certainly no "spam".

Seems excessive that the account itself would be deactivated, to the extent we can't even log in to look at the billing details, etc.

I think a paid service would be the answer though, because any company who just cuts off the service without even telling us is not exactly reliable.

Either Sky has made a mistake (possible) or there's a bigger problem you need to check.

Infected PCs are often used as mail relays for spam and can send thousands of spam emails an hour. See Botnet.
