      skyuser SMTP account

      Hi ,
Have messed up my email account settings for an account that uses a Skyuser SMTP account. Try as I might I cannot send, although I can receive.
How do I either verify my account details, or go about resetting passwords ?

Sorry for the mess. My stupidity.

      Andrew

That's a bit of a blow. Was that just today, because it was sending emails this morning ?
Reason I asked for a Skyuser SMTP was to support a club email where I needed to send emails to a group and Google mails ( as was for sky ) did not support bulk emails.
Does Yahoo accept that ok ?

      Re: skyuser SMTP account

The decision was taken around a month ago.

It followed a couple of incidents caused by some people setting out lots of spam. It is suspected that their computers had become infected.

You should be able to send your normal bulk emails. The SkyUser SMTP server had a limit, but I can't recall the limit for the Sky servers.

If you have large attachments and they are an issue, could I suggest that you consider uploading the attachments to cloud storage (i.e. Photobucket, Dropbox) where the recipients are then able to download the files. Alternatively, provided that the club has a website, you could upload the files to a section which is available to the members where they can download them there.

      Re: skyuser SMTP account

I didn't think the server had closed yet Scubbie, just that no new applications were being accepted. It would be a bit unfair to close it down with no warning to the many users. Maybe one of the Webmasters can confirm what is happening?

I've sent a message. Hopefully we'll get some kind of a response soon.
