      sky email sending problem

      hi

      just started to get this error message on sending emails -

      none of the authentication methods supported by this client are supported by your server

      I can receive email fine just not send

      I am currently using outlook 2007

      Which email service are you using (i.e. sky.com, Yahoo!, gmail)?

      Both Sky and Yahoo! have messed things around recently, which requires the settings to be changed.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Ok, that is an easier one to answer.

      Basically you now need to change everything to 'SSL' and use the 'Server Authentication'.

      Please take a look at the updated guide here:

      Get emails on your Windows desktop client | Sky Help

      Note the use of the 'Login Information' section and the change in port numbers.

      I seem to have everything right according to that apart from my outgoing server (smtp) was set tp 25 instead of 465 so I changed that
      but it still doesn't seem to be working seems to be stuck on send/recieve

      send and received timed out

      Are both the incoming and outgoing settings set to "SSL" now?

      These changes have upset a lot of people, including myself.
