      Sky Email Logging In / Access Problems - June 2010

      There are mulitple reports of people being unable to log into / retrieve Sky Email.

      One of the reported work arounds (credit to rth21) so far is:

      If you log in to "mySky" and reset your password to something that's at least 8 characters long, then you'll be able to access your sky mail via google mail.

      Anyone who can't get workaround links to work, call sky on 08442410515 and suggest they 'sync' your username via the g-mail/google sync tool. Once done, attempt a login as normal and it should login fine.

      Problems using Outlook 2010. If you follow all of the instructions on Configure IMAP for Outlook you will most likely get.....cannot connect unknown user / password etc etc. Please remember when you log in via sky.com your user name user.name and password you will be taken to your mail. Please remember that when you setup an account in Outlook your log on is different - you cannot just use your user name as for the web, you must use your full user name...such as joe.blogs@sky.com. Hope you can make sense of this.

      I'm using Outlook 2010 but previsouly was on Windows Live Mail and I 've been having issues for the last couple of months

      the online FAQ tells you that repeatedly not being able to access email thorugh you email client program on your PC you should go to www.sky.com/unlock and follow the instructions then restart your mail program

      Wven when the mail program doe snot allow you to login to the account, you can still do so on web mail OK with no problems.

      Well, whatever is causing this it keeps happening every few days. And the above fix only works temporarily



      I am using POP3 mail haven't bothered with IMAP
