Re: Anyone got IMAP to work with Sky?
It was for security really. If I only download headers and I don't like the look of who it's from I can delete it, just in case there is a virus. I've had plenty of them you see. Now I'm not sure if IMAP is working anyway. After I download a message into Outlook, I go into Sky webmail the message doesn't download, I assume it should. I'd rather not use pop as messages and attachments were going missing.

Re: Anyone got IMAP to work with Sky?
You configure download headers in your Outlook client under the send and receive settings. You will know if IMAP is working as you will have a new folder with your email address against it for each IMAP account in your Outlook folder tree. When I go into the Sky email account all my emails are there both sent and received etc. just the same as they are in my Outlook client. As far as I know they should be.

Re: Anyone got IMAP to work with Sky?
I’ve recently switched from POP to IMAP on Vista Home Premium and Outlook 2003 and am pleased with the results. I tried transferring all my “old” mail from Personal Folders into the Sky folders for back-up purposes by dragging and dropping and it updated my Sky account instantly. A little time consuming and you can only move complete folders if they don’t already exist in Sky otherwise you have to move the message, but with Ctrl+A that’s not a great problem. Sky also eliminates duplicated messages so you don’t have to worry about what is already in your Sky account.
I just have a couple of questions that maybe someone can help me with. If I am only downloading headers and then read a message is the message permanently downloaded to my computer or am I reading it from the server? Also, if I archive mail from my Sky folders in Outlook will that also remove them from the server or just my main Outlook folders? If they stay on the server will they download again when I next open Outlook? That would defeat the object of archiving but would at least provide a back-up opportunity in case Sky’s server loses data (heaven forbid!)

Re: Anyone got IMAP to work with Sky?
I've tried everything to get it to work on my G5 Intel iMac, using mac mail and Entourage X, everything is configured correctly but I keep getting password not recognised by server.
I've tried configuring with IMAP and POP3 but still the same problem. I am on the point of giving up on it.
