    email problems

      Unhappy email problems

      I have just today got Sky broadband and have had no problems apart from the email. I have outlook express and hotmail on the same page. I can send and receive hotmail e-mails ok but cannot receive the sky e-mails in OE, although I can access them through sky web page. I have followed to instructions to the letter from the information booklet but all I get is "unable to log on to the server etc"
      Can anyone help please.

      I'm assuming you have setup Outlook with the correct server details for your Sky account....having said that, if it works through th eweb then whats the issue? I know its annoying but at least u can still get them!!

      Thanks for the advice. I haven't found my way round this site yet so have not tried the e-mail forum. I can get my e-mail via the sky site but really it's so much easier with all my email address on one page.

      I have solved my problem.
      Went onto OE, tools, accounts, mail, properties and under the tab Servers, I unticked "log on using secure password authentication".
      Workes great now.:
