Using Test socket behind master socket and DLM

If DLM has been run when there were problem and a lower speed set than would be expected with the Line Attenuation, would switching to the Test socket and rebooting show any difference in the router stats or would it require DLM to be started again?

Perhaps you could publish your stats for normal use and from the test socket.

If there is a large difference in signal to noise ratio margin between the two sets of stats then it would be better to rectify any internal wiring faults before informing Sky that you have made improvements to your internal telephone wiring and requesting that they rerun DLM.

It's not my connection - I am trying to help a friend.

So basically if she got one set of stats not using the test socket and one set using the test socket, there wouldn't be any change in speed but we should notice a change in the Noise Margin?

Correct, or to put it the other way if there wasn't any change in S/N margin then any problem (assuming the router and its lead were ok) is going to be external and require Sky or Openreach to repair it.

Edit: I've not heard of any problems with the SR101 but with older routers problems have been caused by a faulty router power supply unit.

Thanks. I'll get the stats from both and see if it shows anything.
