Re: DLM Finished or has it?
I'm happy with it for now.
1.2mb/s downloads in my newsgroups. Cant grumble. Similar to what I was getting on O2 which ranged from 900k to 1.3mb/s

Re: DLM Finished or has it?
Could you check the case of the letters for those downloads please?
There is a difference between 1.2mb/s and 1.2Mb/s. I would expect to see 1.2MB/s on your connection. The difference is bit and Bytes.

Re: Getting best out of my line?
Well this is interesting - do you have any more details? The BT Engineer who called to inspect my line the other week told me that for BT customers 3 was the new 6! I took this with the usual pinch of salt but seems he was right?
Since my DLM testing period finished I have noticed noise margins mainly in the high 5's though sometimes as low as 4.5 and the connection has been rock solid.
Could this be down to the new "n" router or is it due to improvements at the exchange?

Re: Getting best out of my line?
I would suggest that the new DLM is picking up stable lines a lot better than previously and maintaining stability with lower noise margins when possible.
What you have there looks good. I trust that you haven't noticed any drop in performance?

Re: DLM Finished or has it?
No, all looks fine. Connection speed is now very slightly above what I had been on for years until a sudden drop to near 6 a few weeks ago. They tried various things but even with the new router they could get it to connect above 7.
So they sent the BT guy out. He said there was nothing wrong. We went through 5 days of DLM and this was the result.
Maybe you can help with another worry I have. I took off my ADSL Nation faceplate and used the filter they sent with the new router just in case.
Now I'd like to put the faceplate back on but am worried that, with these lower noise margins, the damn thing will go and connect me at a lower speed if it is still looking for 7. Do you happen to know if, once DLM testing is finished, it will have whatever noise margin it has settled for in testing still in its head?

Re: DLM Finished or has it?
There should be no harm in swapping over the microfilter for the filtered faceplate.

Re: Getting best out of my line?
Yes, exactly but I did not sync at that level. This is what worries me, as the noise margin used to be higher at the start of DLM and has dropped since DLM finished. I'm wondering if a reboot will kick noise margin back up but result in a lower sync speed. That certainly would have been what would happen under the old router/DLM system but evidently this combo works differently! Anyway, while everything is still working fine (DLM testing finished 15 March), I ain't about to experiment!

Re: Getting best out of my line?
It tells you on the broadband section of MySky. Mine started 10 March - said it would take up to 10 days but then there was another message, which is still there:
Line connection testing completed on 15/03/2012, resulting in the following settings:
Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 8.2Mbps .
Upload speed setting
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 0.8Mbps .
