Day 3 of DLM

Re: Day 3 of DLM
I think you should phone Sky and start complaining. Your router has been up for a day and a half which means it did not resync as it should have done if DLM was still running. The row of 0s against the LAN is also a bit strange and may indicate you have a faulty router. You should be getting the maximum figure quite easily, so something is amiss.

Re: Day 3 of DLM
To add on the 0's beside the LAN section - I just changed over to a sky d-link today and I get the same (connected wirelessly of course):
Code:Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time WAN PPPoA 46566 85409 0 953 29080 00:55:33 LAN 0 0 0 0 0 00:00:00 WLAN 89782 49425 0 37051 1334 00:55:23

Re: Day 3 of DLM
Yes I have now realised that if you are using wireless on a laptop and don't have the ethernet connected, this is the result you get with the Dlink. I am not sure why, probably something to do with power saving. It does not happen on the Netgear with my Desktop, both are shown as connected on the router, whether they are enabled on the PC or not.

Re: Day 3 of DLM
Updated router stats are:
ROUTER STATISTICS
System Up Time: 71:40:42
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
WAN PPPoA 4134 6527 0 46 394 05:16:49
LAN * 0 0 0 0 0 00:00:00
WLAN * 863970 669064 0 45324 5257 05:16:39
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 19996 kbps 1150 kbps
Line Attenuation 6.5db 4.9db
Noise Margin 7.2db 9.8db
Poll Interval: (secs)
Still though when I take an online speed test I'm only getting 2-3mbps. Any ideas why?
Thanks in advance

Re: Day 3 of DLM
Speedtest.net does not always give consistent results. Use Sky User - Broadband Speed Tester and check it with thinkbroadband :: UK Broadband Speed Test
You are also using wireless which is a bit slower than ethernet. Plug in by cable and check your results.

Re: Day 3 of DLM
I been online with sky for more than a day now and so far my speeds hasnt changed one bit.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4095 kbps 605 kbps
Line Attenuation 27.5db 15.6db
Noise Margin 15.5db 19.4db
Surely the DLM should have started changing the speed a little bit? My sky account page says line training is not on but when I phoned SKY last night the girl said its on but im not so sure. Any one know how long it takes before the DLM starts doing changes in the speed?

Re: Day 3 of DLM
It can take up to 3 days for DLM to start adjusting your line. It resyncs your line in the early hours, around 2.30am.

Re: Day 3 of DLM
Seems its kicked in as I have a bit more speed this morning.
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 12749 kbps 945 kbps
Line Attenuation 27.5db 15.6db
Noise Margin 6.8db 15.3db
Does it usually go in "small" steps like that? Was hoping to get a bit more.
