Well doesn't the noise margin usually need to be a little higher?
because the noise margin reduces when the speeds get higher.. I think, correct me if im wrong and in my eyes if that noise margin gets any lower he/she could be in the risk of having his/her connection dropping out.

You stated in an earlier post that he could get 13-14mb, he won't, he is getting all just about all he can with their current setup.

Not sure why you would think he could go as high as 14mb unless you know something he has not shared with the rest of us.

I think SOF is maybe referring to the line attenuation, and that the OP could theoretically get more from that attenuation. You're not incorrect as such, SOF, but for the fact the SNR is near to 7db (target SNR) at the moment he can't push out more speed. The SNR needs to be higher for the cap to be lifted.

Dilection, plug into your test socket and re-take the stats.

Your noise margin is higher in your faceplate than your test socket, which yet again isn't a good sign (according to previous posts) also the obvious drop in speed can't be a very good sign either. Also a Increase in Line Attenuation.

When you say a 'bt faceplate', do you mean a filtered faceplate? Your stats are no doubt better here, but not by much. Sky could further uncap you from 8192/800, but you're not going to get much more. Maybe you'll perhaps reach 10240kbps or so, but doubtful.

      Try the following:

      - Remove the faceplate again and swap over for another filter that sky gave you.
      - Ensure you're using the short grey dsl cable sky supplied and not an extension cable.
      - Re-take the stats.

Re: DLM Started, Official Router hasn't arrived yet.

There should always be a differance between the stats taken at the test socket and those taken at an extension, it may be small but they should always be better at the test socket.
If they are not then a couple of checks should be carried out.

      (1) Check that with the test socket exposed that a dial tone is present at the test socket and that all other extension sockets, used or not, have no dial tone. Also check that if you have an alarm that is connected to the phone line it also show no line connected when the test socket is exposed.

      (2) If this is not so, then you need to get this sorted out.
