      Red face Still waiting for DLM after 5 days

      Hi Everyone,

      This is my first post in this forum, so appologies if this question has already been answered somewhere.

      I have just joined Sky unlimited broadband from Entanet (Ukfsn 8mb). With Entanet I got a sync speed of 8128Kbps, as I am located close to the exchange, and downloads were pretty close to the advertised 8mbps.

      My Sky broadband was activated on 03/12/2009, and sky stated that the line speed will be set to 4mb on the first day, and the DLM would then kick in to attempt to take this up to 20mb (sky estimate I can receive between 10 and 20mb)

      Since connecting the sky router on 03/12/2009, my download stats are:-

      Sync: 4091kbps
      Download Attenuation: 15db
      Download Noise: 24 db

      I have been expecting this to change, as per Sky's letter, but so far, it has remained the same for five days now.

      Is it normal for the DLM to take so long to kick in?, or can this happen anytime within the 10 day period?

      p.s. MySky website does state that line testing is not in progress, but I have read that this is not accurate.

      Phone Sky support and ask them what is going on, they may just configure your line manually. DLM usually starts with 3 days. Normally your upload will increase first then your download.

      Update:-

      I sent an Email off to sky last night, and explained the situation.

      I had a reply this morning, stating that the DLM was running on my line, and was the reason for my capped speed (even though Download/Upload sync had not changed in the 6 days since activation)

      They have however, manually set my download to 20mb (I'll check this later), so looks like a satisfactory result.
