Re: New House, New Broadband, Terrible Speeds :(
While on hold is just changed to
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4428 kbps 400 kbps
Line Attenuation 57.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 9.0 db 13.0 db
Then
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3328 kbps 800 kbps
Line Attenuation 57.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 11.9 db 13.0 db
Are they sorting it while im on hold? Without even talking to me

Checked all the stats, and everything has changed to allow around a 3 meg connection, just did a speed test aswell, and download a 40mg file, all perfect. Only thing keeping me on the file is the screen above on my sky hasnt been updated!

The web site always lags behind 'real time' They probably update in bulk. At least you now have a usable connection

Re: New House, New Broadband, Terrible Speeds :(
Just finally spoke to someone. They are capping me at 4mg, but said there is a chance of errors at that speed. If errors keep happening I need to cal and they will cap at 3mg.
Just glad I have more than 0.4mg at the moment!
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread, its very much appreciated

Re: New House, New Broadband, Terrible Speeds :(
Ok this problem still isnt totally sorted
It seems I can only get the 4meg connection when its plugged into the test socket. When I change it to my normal socket in the bedroom it goes down to 700Kb/s.
So for the time being I have used a 5metre cable to connect to the test socket. However this means I can only plug my phone into the test socket aswell otherwise they wont work, and the test socket is in a closet......
Any solutions?

Re: New House, New Broadband, Terrible Speeds :(
Yes, buy a filtered faceplate and then you can connect all your other extensions up, the route will have to stay by the master socket though.
