Upgraded to max/unlimited

Hi,
I just upgraded to unlimited from mid.
I was syncing at 8016 and 416 on mid.
Here are my current stats:
Connection Speed 4095 kbps 510 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 12.3 db
Noise Margin 20.9 db 24.0 db
Im guessing DLM has started even though it has been minutes since i upgraded.
How are my stats looking.

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

That is the new starting speed for unlimited and DLM should start within I think 24 - 72 hours I think i read somewhere on the forum.
Once finished you should see quite near to 20Mb with that attenuation.

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

I am currently using a 20metre rj11 wire from downstairs to my room to connect the router. Could this affect the speed?

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

If it is a good quality one, ie, not a flat twin telephone extension in disguise, it will make little difference. Far better than using a cheap phone extension. If you have extensions you will usually get better result if you use a filtered faceplate.

XTE-2005 Filtered Master Faceplate - ADSL Nation

Note that you can only fit one of these if you have an NTE5 linebox, see Test socket link below.

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

Before i did some wiring to my room my attenuation was 17db. Now it has gone to 20.5db. Is this because of poor quality wire. I used to use a long ethernet, now i use a long rj11 to connect the router in my room. Could this affect the maximum speed i receive?

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

it shouldn't affect a lot - maybe half a meg to a meg...you wouldn't notice it in the real world, although your ego might lol!!

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

I doubt if the wire is the reason for the rise in attenuation. It is probably due to the move to ADSL2+ which causes a 3-4 Mb increase in the attenuation figure. The 416 upload you had indicates you were on G.DMT. If you are worried, plug it back in where it was, you will probably find it is the same.

Re: Upgraded to max/unlimited

I think DLM has started, my stats just changed and router restarted.
here are my stats now:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7616 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 12.4 db
Noise Margin 28.1 db 16.5 db
Can anyone confirm that dlm has started.and why is the noise margin really high.

UPDATE 02 july abt 2am- my router just resynced again:
Connection Speed 8191 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 12.4 db
Noise Margin 26.3 db 16.0 db

UPDATE: 03 july abt 2am
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 11263 kbps 926 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 12.4 db
Noise Margin 20.8 db 10.0 db
