Angry Hello DLM = Goodbye Sky

Well I've finally had enough. My speed has dropped from around 3.5Mb to around 1.5Mb since DLM came in and Sky are unwilling to do anything about it. I'm paying £10 a month for 10Mb (I knew I would not get this when I signed up) but now 1.5Mb is just too slow. I was downloading the other day and my kids and wife where all complaining how slow the internet was. So tomorrow I'm having Virgin Cable installed for £16 a month for 10Mb. Don't get me wrong I enjoy Sky's other services and have been a HD subscriber since launch.

Rant over....

Re: Hello DLM = Goodbye Sky

It is a shame to see people leave, especially over something as silly as DLM.
But needless to say that what companies sell these days is a service advertised as "Up To" and not xMb Guaranteed.
The problems this then brings is that things such as DLM can have a severe impact (such as on your line) and your suffering with no way out. Obviously Sky dont have to do anything about it if they dont want to as your only paying for an "Up To" service.

What bothers me about the DLM though is judging on the pattern, it stands to put everyones speeds down to roughly what wit would be on normal ADSLMax, which would give little benefit to users to choose LLU.

Re: Hello DLM = Goodbye Sky

I have Virgin on a month's trial after DLM reduced my Max actual by 25%. On XL, nominal 20Mb, constantly above 15Mb, frequently 19Mb and sometimes 24Mb. Using same speedtester as Sky. I did not wish to leave Sky but after two letters and two long conversations I realised that Sky did not want my custom, so they have lost £600/annum and potential HD. Leaving soon as running Virgin and Sky, just in case.
