Ohhhh, OK...Thanks for clearing that up.

So the new notification that DLM is on its way is for other people around the country?

Hi Chintz.
You were on a DLM trial, thats now finished and hopefuly Sky have learned a lot from it and if you contact Sky they will correct your line back to how it was.
When DLM recomences it will be for all LLU BB customers (Connect customers already have a form of DLM from BT) including those who were on the trial.

Lets hope Sky get it right this time.

I am not sure if DLM is being used at the moment, will endeavour to find out.

Re: What Is DLM? Everything you need to know.

I thought that DLM, when put on a line, continued to run until it was manually stopped. I would think it is still running on the trial lines unless Sky switched them all back to manual. Knowing they were going to introduce it over the whole network, I can't see them doing that. That is if they are using true DLM and not one of their inhouse auto grading tools.

I guess that depends: O2 for example run DLM only for a maximum of the first 10 days of a new connection.

Re: What Is DLM? Everything you need to know.

I just thought DLM would have to run all the time, if it is not, then it is not true Dynamic Line Management, rather a line grading tool like BT use on the first 10 days a line is active. DLM is supposed to keep the line in it's best stable condition by raising or lowering the noise margin, if it is not running it can't do that. Probably I am wrong in my thinking, but it would be nice to know for sure.
