Think someone has just given it a kick! In the last 15 minutes or so it has lost connection (proper lost connection, not just a slight glitch in downloads ...) 4 times. It went up to 3800 and is now at 3Mb ... wonder how fast it will go back down to 0.3 again?!

I have noticed that, when you check the router stats, when its just chugging along not doing much, it seems to have a retrain reason "8000", whereas I get lots of loss of signal on retrain reason "1" - don't know if this is coincidence or not, as I have no idea what these codes mean.

Oh --- look - just noticed no longer on ADSL2.

Smashing. So after all that, they've chucked me off DLM, first thing that happens is I get disconnects and errors, and lose almost 1Mb.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

Just spoken to Sky. Yup. DLM has finished on my line. Yippeee!!!!

The verdict? Waste of time. Hopefully they learnt something (probably, "it doesn't always work"). But basically DLM left my line at 384Kbps and they have manually reset it ... and guess what? They think it can probably get up to a maximum of about 4Mb. What was I on before they started? 3.9Mb.

I could have told em that and saved all the trouble.

I did suggest I should be paid by Sky for helping them work out how to use DLM. The answer? "nice try, but no, sorry"! hehe.

I'm pleased for you Stumpy. Of all the people on here, you seemed to suffer the most. Once the dust has settled Sky really should look at a couple of free months (tv as well) for everyone who has been on this trial. (pig doing aerobatics outside window)

the staff aren't the problem - it's the system written to process the DLM that's screwed!! still, all's well that ends well
