and you CANNOT be taken out of the process at present...some CST agents are going against protocol and reconfiguring lines but the DLM will just change it again. once it's finished it can be changed but not during...
Hmm am I right in thinking this is more like the BE dlm rather than BTs dlm.

BE dlm runs for first week or so on line configures it and is then off, line stays at whatever dlm configured it at or if changed by BE staff.

BT dlm runs 24/7 and reacts to things like frequent resynchs.

Sky dlm on this trial runs for 20 days and is then off similiar to BEs dlm, after the trial will it be on 24/7 or a 20 day thing?

from what I can gather it's a constant thing...it'll look at the line over the course of a day and change if needed - like BT does...

having said that, I might be wrong...

DLM error?

First day of DLM speed was 3755/412. After a small power cut the next day, it has not changed the sync since, so now my downstream is uncapped. But getting a few drop outs but speed pretty much the same, and accumulated 7K of errors at one point.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

Mine doesn't appear to have changed for at least a week.

Quote:
Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 412 Kbps, Downstream rate = 384 Kbps
Link Power State: L0
Mode: ADSL2
Channel: Fast
Trellis: U:ON /D:ON
Line Status: No Defect
Training Status: Showtime
Down Up
SNR (dB): 24.3 13.5
Attn(dB): 56.5 37.0
Pwr(dBm): 0.0 12.6
Max(Kbps): 3668 516
Rate (Kbps): 384 412
I have noticed the Max speed is a lot higher, and more what I would expect now on my line .... but it has never got anywhere near that since DLM started.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

There are 44 pages in this thread currently... I looked at the first 8 pages and did not find the mentioned "method" to get Sky to fix this.

Could you please repeat the procedure to get Sky to set.... What?.... on my Sagem modem?

Should I ask them to set a speed or a noise margin?

This morning, I have 16 dB of noise margin, whereas four weeks ago I was running fine as low as 5dB...

Who should I call and what should I ask, thanks.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

This IS Sky fixing it!

If your line is part of DLM (you could ring Sky to confirm this), then basically you just have to wait 10-20 days for it to end. Then, if things are a lot worse, you need to ring them back up and hope they can put your line back the way it was.

If you have had the problem for a month, then it may be nothing to do with DLM, but down to a line isssue (and you line being capped)
may be worth starting a new thread and posting your router stats)
