As long as the speed goes back to 3mbit w/ 786k i'm happy, otherwise i'll be on their case.

Oh connection has further reduced down to 1500 256,

What's going on?

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

Mode: ADSL2 is ur problem it should state adsl2+ and yeah the upload speed is shoddy i would contact sky and ask them what they are playing at

but saying that i see u are far from the exchange Attn(dB): 67.5 43.4

so maybe why but u could always ask them to put u on adsl2+ and see if ur upload increases and see how u get on with that mode

good luck

With an attenuation of 67.5 you will have absolutely no chance of being put on ADSL2+ The odds of England winning Euro 2008 are less.

The attenuation is basically your line length from the exchange. I would hazard a guess and say about 2mb is the best you would ever expect to receive. This is what DLM should sort out, lines exactly like yours.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

True,

Though since sky capped my speed to 3mb, its been very stable throughout the days.

I'm about 4km away from exchange or 3.46km straight line.

I'll leave the router alone and see how things go.

:-)

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

Wow somebody with a worse line attenuation than me, it looks like we could be in the same boat, Max package with high line attenuation = DLM, is that how they work out who has a poor line.

On a related note if you line is being DLM is your IP address sticky, usually Xbox Live is quick to tell you when you disconnect but at times it seems that the WAN uptime has reset but Xbox live thinks I'm still connected.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

If your line is stable, I would accept that, although you maybe not that far from the exchange, your attenuation tells us that your line is. (It's not as the crow flies so to speak)

The most you would get on that attenuation is between 2 to 3mb and wouldn't be guaranteed to be fault free I guess.

Re: Sky to perform a spot of ADSL line management on some 300,000 lines

What are the chances of BT replacing my line, in order to increase the quality?
