I used my free voucher for a movie from sky VIP to buy guardians of the galaxy 2 only to find out I can't watch it on my tv because my box has software version 4f30!!
Is there no way I can watch my movie?

I thought I had found a solution using a Roku stick I have. Unfortunately the store loads but crashes with error 0003.

You should look for a DRX 890(w) box on ebay as these are the only boxes capable of using "Buy & Keep" from Sky, alternatively you could upgrade to Sky Q through legitimate Sky sales channels.

(Here's one with 12 hours to go that's only about 1 (currently).

[Not to imply buying Sky+HD box from 3rd party is not legitimate, this is the business model Sky (UK) has used for around 30 years!]

Bugger, wish I had known this before i went and bought a Samsung box. Still its better than the drx780 i had as that has started to stop playing back recordings. I have managed to get the Roku stick working but it is just painfully slow, eg press pause and 5 minutes later it pauses. at least it works.

I have since discovered my sim card is somewhat fried, it still seems to work despite being rather blackened.
