Connecting SHY HD wirelessly using Apple Extreme and Apple Express
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to connect the SKY HD box (latest version) to the internet using a combination of Apple Extreme and Apple Express. My ISP is BT Broadband, but I supplement that with the Apple router to create a domestic network that can stream the signal wirelessly further.
Trying to set up the Sky+ HD box has not been possible using either the BT or the Apple network wirelessly, despite the Apple express being located next to the Sky box and giving a 77% signal strength. I also tried to hard wire using an ethernet cable connected to the Sky box and the Apple Express, but no joy.
Am I going to have to but a Sky wireless box connector?

Re: Connecting SHY HD wirelessly using Apple Extreme and Apple Express
Theoretically you should be able to connect the Sky+ HD STb in the same manner as any computer would connect to the Internet.
Are you able to connect a PC (or Laptop via the Ethernet cable) through the Apple Extreme and Apple Express?
Check the Ethernet cable you are using too.
What messages are you getting on the Sky+ HD STB in the 'Network' connection page?

Thanks for the response.
I have connected laptops via the Extreme, hut will need to check whether it works via the express. Bear in mind that with the Express powered up and streaming, the laptop would be connected wirelessly anyway.........I'll check the cable though.

Re: Connecting SHY HD wirelessly using Apple Extreme and Apple Express
Solved the problem which ended up being a mismatch in the viewing card number between what i was using and the record Sky had. New card resolved the issue.
Now all I need to do is increase the font size on the viewing menu.

Sadly the font size used in the EPG can't be changed.

Re: Connecting SHY HD wirelessly using Apple Extreme and Apple Express
Aye, but that depends on how much someone is prepared to pay.
@boxertwin : It is worth pointing out that the new EPG style on the Sky+ HD STBs is specifically designed more for a HD TV than an old style SD TV. Whilst the design works fine on smaller sets, any benefits are lost with the older 4:3 analogue TVs. However before I dig a hole any deeper, you haven't mentioned which TV you have or its size.
