Any rumours of You Tube support?.

Been using my mini 'on demand' box for a while now and quite impressed with the service. One thing both me and my brother agree on though (he has the latest 2TB box) is that a You Tube app would be a great addition, as neither of us have 'smart' tv's. Has anything been rumoured about it?.

      thanks
      joe

Any rumours of You Tube support?.

Got to admit I have not heard of any involvement between Sky and YouTube, although got to agree this would be a great addition.

Why not get yourself something lie the D-Link Boxee?

The Roku is also a good item, but I can't recall if it has YouTube.

Yeah there's plenty of nice solutions out there but I'd rather keep to the one box (the 'mini' being so small, its hidden behind the sky box). I think Sky are missing a trick when Virgin have included it for ages (albeit cut down).

I do not think that the current Sky+ HD STBs are capable of streaming in the same way that many new boxes are able to. All the OD and CUTV content is downloaded a little first, then you can view it. This can be anything from 10-15 seconds to 20 or 30 minutes or more, depending on the connection speed.

Having just come from Virgin Tivo, it was handy having Youtube on the box and controlled via your mobile as well.
Ok you can have it with smart TV's or other media servers etc, but having an all in one solution might assist those who would like to see it or just cannot be bothered to fire up the PC!
