When On Demand (or Anytime+ as it was then called) was first introduced it was only available to Sky broadband customers but can now be accessed using any UK broadband provider.

Even then it seemed to be an artificial restriction as the content was served from akamai's CDN anyway, whether that was the case when it first came out I don't know but it was certianly the case the months proceeding them opening it up to all ISP's

I managed to access on-demand via BE when it was supposed to be SKY only (I Had both Sky and BE at the time, but forgot to set the rule in my router to send the traffic from the STB to the Sky Connection)

Perhaps it was an artificial restriction. Initially the service could only be activated on accounts where the subscriber had both Sky+ HD and Sky broadband. I don't know whether anyone in that situation attempted to access anytime+ exclusively via another service provider. Please correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it with akamai content delivery the initial request has to be received by the named site.

I read those comments at that time, and had both Sky and Virgin broadband but it didn't work on the Virgin connection.

I wasn't and haven't ever been accepted on any staff trials, btw. I blame this site for that

      Aye, I do to.

The people from this site who have been participating in the beta trials have put a lot of work in and provided a huge amount of feedback for the developers.

They should all be commended for their good work!
