Angry problems signing up for bb unlim and evening/weekend calls

Just ordered BB unlim and evening/weekend calls online. Seemed to go through fine. Then I get an email saying they need more info. They phone me.

They say the order didn't go through online because I have an inactive account at my address. I've never had sky at this address and haven't had sky at any address in a few years and have never had sky bb.

They say they can put it through on the phone. Problem is they say the price is 11.25 pcm with no upfront fee.

Price online is 7.50 for first 4 months then 10pcm with 10 upfront. 50 Quidco too.

They say they can't see the same deal so it must have expired and is no longer valid. But this is live on their website and has been since at least when I started looking into changing providers a week ago.

They've cancelled it down suggesting I try again online but say it's likely the same thing will happen again.

Terrible way to treat a new customer

      Any advice appreciated..

Getting the impression Sky don't know their **** from their elbow. An eye opener for me trying to come from plusnet who are great on the phone. Tried to place the order again in the wife's name. This time when they phoned to say it didn't go through they simply said the offer's over (why is it STILL live on the website then) but this time the deal was even worse 11.25 pcm plus the 10 up front. One the website it doesn't even say the 7.50 for 4 months then 10 pcm is a special offer, just the normal deal.. not sure what to do, accept the 11.25 or keep trying..

Seems like a con partly to circumvent Quidco if you ask me..

It would help if you posted the link to where you are trying to sign up.

If you are signing up via an external site (quidco) then it's probably them who dont have up to date offers.

If you are signing up direct on Sky's sight then we can provide an email address for you to get the online offer if you are struggling.

Quidco just redirects you to Sky's site and you sign up as normal on the Sky site.

Sky's site detects the Quidco cookie that is placed on your computer when you click to earn cashback on Quidco's site and are redirected to Sky. This detection results in Sky informing Quidco that you purchased and 50 tracks in your Quidco account; eventually you get the 50 into your bank account by BACs.

I'm looking for the deal seen here:
Sky Broadband - Get the best Broadband deals when you join Sky

      "Unlimited broadband & free calls"
Price is 7.50 pcm + 2.50 pcm because I don't have Sky TV.

When you add this to the basket you will see that it is infact 7.50 for first 4 months then 10 pcm. Upfront payment of 10.

They phone me up and say it's a completely different price than what's on the website...

If you could provide an email address that would be great, thank you!

Okay, I think somewhere between yourself and Sky you both have got confused.

      The deal is as follows:

Broadband Unlimited plus Sky Talk Freetime is 7.50pm for 4 mths then 10pm

The 11.25 is for Sky Line Rental.

If you just want the Broadband and Sky Talk Freetime then you need to make it clear to the adviser that you want to leave your line rental with BT.

Re: problems signing up for bb unlim and evening/weekend calls

They were clear that the 11.25 pcm was for BB unlim. But no I didn't reiterate that I wanted my line rental to stay with BT; thought this was obvious as I wanted what I ordered and surely they have this on their database. I'm on my 3rd order now, the first two I cancelled down because they tried to change the price. The third they called about to again say the offer is over, told them I'd talk to them later about it as I'd had enough of them for the time being (this one not cancelled yet) . Do you have an email address to contact them for help? The advisers are useless.

Re: problems signing up for bb unlim and evening/weekend calls

I was on the phone to them for 45 minutes last night and still not sorted - as I was on the phone they called my mobile phone and the wife answered. She said I'm sorting it out with another advisor as we speak and call ended. This resulted in the advisor the wife was speaking to cancelling the order - as I was still on the phone I got the cancellation email. That screwed it all up and the advisor I had been on with for half an hour (got transferred a few times for the first 15 minutes..) couldn't fix it.

I've ordered again and await the cycle to repeat again...

Sent them an email as suggested and got a auto reply saying I should email via a web form - but this requires a login that I don't have yet as the sky id isn't valid until the account is setup. Do you have any other email addresses?

Joining Sky - a terrible terrible experience!!
