How to setup the Ipod Touch / Iphone for Sky Emails (With Pics)

Hello all,

I have been working on getting this tutorial done for the last couple of days. To be fair I havent had a chance until today (Saturday). I have now completed the PDF and I hope you find it useful.

The PDF covers how to set up your sky email account ready for use with the ipod and then how to configure the ipod (thats Touch and IPhone) to get and send emails through your sky email account.

Excellent I had posted a blog asking how to send emails via the ITouch; receiving was no problem. It turns out that the optional username and password for outgoing is not optional but required. Thanks again for the tutorial.

hiya, i was just wondering, i have outlook set up on my computer and normally it receives all my email and to ne honest i'm quite happy with it (sticking with what i know). then i got the ipod touch and i was following your instructions (which are REALLY good by the way) trying to set it up to also receive my emails.

i would really prefer if my emails were forwarded on to both my ipod touch AND outlook. i was thinking one way to do this would be to set up my sky mail settings to leave a copy of the email on the Sky Mail Inbox - that way it outlook would see it as a new email and download it to the computer... while at the same time i would have already had it on the ipod touch too...

i guess what i'm trying to do is also have a backup of the email on my comp.

it would be nice to be able to go to my computer and then suddenly realise that an important email is actually on my ipod touch.... am i being too fussy? is there another way to do this?....

please help.

Excellent tutorial!

I'm planning to set up IMAp access to one of my Sky e-mail accounts.

Presumably I will be able to send e-mail through imap.tools.sky.com from my iPod touch when I am connected at a public wi-fi hotspot (rather than via my own network at home which is connected to Sky BB)?
