How to setup the Ipod Touch / Iphone for Sky Emails (With Pics)

Thanks for the tutorial which was so easy to follow but I am still unable to receive and send emails from my I pod touch !
I am getting an error message which says I cannot connect using SSL and then it is all down hill from there !!
Any ideas?

Same here.... after following the tutorial it worked perfectly..... all of a sudden i cannot receive or send emails and get the same error message as above.

Hi Guys,

Im very sorry I havent responded for a lil while and that I didnt respond sooner. I guess like most people life is busy in trying to find cash in order to buy the next loaf of bread eh lol.

I will take a look at this issue and see if I can replicate it. I will keep you posted with any updates and fixes.

Ok I have had a look and the confusing part is it works fine for me.

So could I ask you both to confirm with me what settings you are both using please?
Also please include other variables such as, using it on a public AP or from home etc.

Im determined to get to the bottom of this but I need to replicate the problem first.

As for a couple of questions above that appear to be a little while old, I think I will see if I can achieve both and then create something to cover this for you.

Thanks for the reply.
My setting are exactly the same as yours given in the excellent tutorial. The out going and incoming servers are both the same.
In fact nothing has changed from the settings you provided, except that it is not able to connect to the server.
I am using it from home using a wired connecting from my router to the master socket using no extensions.
My router is the original netgear V1.

Incoming should be = imap.tools.sky.com
Outgoing should be = smtp.tools.sky.com

Also I forgot to mention that the ports need altering, but we can check this after having checked the incoming and outgoing servers.

i didnt make myself clear.... All the incoming and outgoing servers are as you state, as i said nothing has changed from the original set up you so kindly wrote.

Ok, I think the best thing we could do one time is perhaps have a chat on skype? Its easier to problem solve something like this in a more realtime sort of way. Do you have skype and a headset ?
