Delay using included McAffee Security Software

My Sky BB Mid subscription started last Friday. With some help from these forums especially for those of us some distance from the exchange, I can now get a reliable connection even in the evenings.

My question is this. I don't want to take advantage of the McAffee subscription until my current virus checker subscription expires in August. Do you think I can still get the full free year out of it?

Yes you can, but some posters report that it can cause your PC to slow down and other problems. It might be better going for the free ones when your sub runs out like AVG Free and Zonealarm (Other packages are available!)

I wouldn't use McAffee as there are much better ones out there and something like AVast or AVG along with Zone Alarm will do the job just as well infact probably better and you don't have to pay for them.

I have just the basic McAffee virus checker at the moment. I'll take you're advice when the licence expires in a few months.

      Thanks,

I had the paid for McAfee internet suite, it was top heavy, consuming resources and interfering, I now use NOD 32 for anti virus and Kerio Subelt firewall, I hardly notice them and they are lighter on PC resources.
