All the lights are on the Router, but still doesn't work

      Hi there,

I have setup my sky bb router, installed all the software and everything looks fine.

All the 4 lights are green, power/wireless/internet/port1

But when i open up internet explorer or click the sky bb icon and i can't open any sites.

I have checked the router settings, the router gives the computer an IP address, but the router hasn't got an IP address from the internet/sky.

When i go to network connections, the 'GATEWAY' is sending/receiving data but, the status says its connected, but the duration and speed says 'not known'

There doesn't seem to be a problem with my computer, so i think it is either the router or the connection from sky.

Has anybody had any similar problems????

And if so what was the problem and how did they overcome it??

Any help would be much appreciated

      Thanks

I had similar, turned out to be error code 300.

Call Sky tier one, who will be able (eventually) to determine the problem, then send off a Ticket to tier 2 or 3, then you will wait a lifetime for them to get back to you and fix it.

When is/was your connection date? If it is passed try rebooting your router, it may then connect. Have you had a previous BB connection?

I had exactly the same problem with the gateway freezing up and by switching off the UPnP function on the router it stopped all the many disconnections. This may help.

My neighbour among others had exactly the same problem. It took Tier 3 about 10 seconds to correct it their end. The secret is getting to Tier 3. It doesn't seem that waiting for a call back is a viable option so phone up late at night when things are quieter and be polite but firm that you need to be put through, or, as in their case, the Tier 1 spoke to Tier 3 and it was done there and then.
