      Unhappy Anyone help?

      Hi there,

Okay... this may not be exactly news to people on here... but i am having a nightmare getting connected to Sky.

This has stemmed from Sky delivering my router to my home address, when they should have delivered it to work. I contacted sky many many times to get them to change the delivery address but to no avail and now the router has been returned to Sky. They will not dispatch a new router until they have had confirmation that the old one has returned, but i have been told a glitch in their computer system means that they are unable to confirm this.

My line was activated (Sky Max) on 1st March and i have now been told that it could be 2-3 weeks before they can redeliver the router.

What makes things more annoying is that I have a perfectly good Netgear DG834G sitting at home, which syncs at about 10Mb down and 760 (ish) up, but obviously i can't connect because i don't have a username and password.

So here is my request. I am wondering if anyone is willing to let me have (via PM or e-mail) a username and password that i can try (maybe from an old router that blew up) until sky get their backsides in gear.

Apologies if this request breaks forum rules, but i am just try to get my net access back while sky sort themselves out.

      Regards

      HC

I could probably quote that thread verbatim!!

Unfortunately it requires me to have a router in the first place!! Which is currently somewhere in the never never land that is Sky...

The link that has been posted above may help you, but i would advise anyone never to give out usernames or passwords.
      Hope you get it sorted.

Just to clarify.. i am not looking for someone's live username and password... just had a thought that someone might have a dead sky router that has subsequently been replaced by a new router. (and consequently a new username and password).

      Re: Anyone help?

In response to some of the complaints I have written in, I got a callback from a Tier 3 guy the other day, amongst other things he said he could see my username and password, and also didn't understand why they couldn't be given out to customers under certain circumstances.

I'm sure you feel your circumstances are one of them!

I know it is a long shot, possibly a worse chance than getting someone here to PM you with details, but might be worth a try asking a Tier 3 bod to look up the info and see if they can help you.

Situations like this one are exactly why Sky get slated so much, the procedures and so very slow response times to those most in need, those with problems!
