      Router sync speed plummet

Since joining SKY broadband just before Christmas, I have always been able to sync at about 8000 during the day dropping to 7000 in the evening.
Last evening I noticed my syn at around the 1000 mark, tried a few things but could not resolve the problem . I turned everything off including the router overnight, but this morning the problem continues.
I enclose my detailed router stats for any boffin to have a look at and hopefully offer any advice.
PS my local exchange reports no problems.

      Re: Router sync speed plummet

I'm really surprised you say your router used to connect at ~8000kbps. With an attenuation of 56db, something like 4000kbps would be the max you could hope for.

This, coupled with the huge drop in speed makes me wonder if you have a gross fault on your line. To have got 8000kbps your attenuation must have been lower ~45db). Line faults can cause a change in attenuation but a shift of more than 10db is outside of my experience.

Currently you have a low connection speed for your attenuation and your line is generating errors. Something is wrong with it.

What are your connection stats connected directly to your test socket (behind the faceplate of your master socket - assuming you have an NTE5)?

      Re: Router sync speed plummet

Many thanks for your speedy reply Saturday.

Just as a followup problem now resolved, it was a BT fault, unbeknown to me at the time of the post, our telephone line was not allowing incoming or outgoing telephone calls, so I am surprised we had any internet access at all!

      New router stats now enclosed
