My exchange was unbundled on the 21st Dec but when I rang sky a day after New Years, before I could get a word out I was offered the 5 deal. Obviously has a sweetner as the sky agent knew that I would demand going over to the LLU packages. Infact they were kind enough to charge me 5 from the date my exchange was unbundled after I queried the wait I have to take.

Only be active on connect for 3 days and am already hating it. Speed seems to vary all the time, connection issues and worst of all it's stopping me downloading torrents. I have read through some of the threads about port forwarding, but none of that seems to have helped.

Dont give up too quickly, I think I'm right in saying connect is on ADSL1 which goe's through a training period where it continuously trys different speeds on the line, after 10 days it locks to the fastest most stable connection for the line.

Thanks for the email Hermann. I will certainly try it and keep you all informed about what happens next.

Just feel I (and many others) have been treated poorly after showing loyalty from the start of Sky Broadband. If it wasnt for us people joining them at the start, they wouldnt be where they are today. Seems they forget that very quickly.

      Update on This topic

I telephoned Sky technical team and got through to someone sensible. This is a tough task normally hehe. Explained the problem and was transfered across to customer support.

After speaking to customer support, they have apologised about the situation and has put me onto the 5 per month connect package which will start in April. I asked for a credit for the months of Jan, Feb, Mar and part of April where I have paid 17 already and was told they could not do that. I asked to be put through to the complaint department, and was told they dont have one??? I said they should have. But instead was given an address to write a letter of complaint to.

I know you are on the same exchange as myself, and did not know when we would be converted over to the mid package. Well I found out that they will be doing that in July this year. I was amazed to hear this especially as our exchange was unbundled in Dec, but thats the estimated date. I really hope you have been put onto the 5 per month connect cause you will be on this service for a fair while.

All it takes is to get through to somebody who knows what they are doing. Luckly for me I have usually got through to such a person but it does seem like pot luck sometimes as to who get through and if they can actually help you.
