Exclamation Migrating from Tiscali to Sky Max [PROBLEMS!! NEED HELP]

      Hi,

I placed an order for Sky TV and Sky Broadband MAX approx 2.5 Weeks ago, everything has so far went smoothly but I had been curious to see if my line was on LLU, ADSL1 or ADSL2+

After looking on my bt.com profile 'Order Tracking (Landline)' I have the following entries:

      Placed 20 Feb 2007
      Description CHANGE
      Appointment No date yet
      Date due 01 Mar 2007
      Status Order completed
      Last update 01 Mar 2007
Notes Your order has been completed.

      Items in this order
Description Product name Quantity Cost Rental
PROVIDE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0
PROVIDE SMPF TO SMPF MIG. ON TACTICAL 1 0.0 0.0

What does the 'PROVIDE SMPF TO SMPF MIG. ON TACTICAL' mean?

Then this dated for March 2nd:

      Description CHANGE
      Appointment No date yet
      Date due 02 Mar 2007
      Status Order completed
      Last update 02 Mar 2007
Notes Your order has been completed.

      Items in this order
Description Product name Quantity Cost Rental
CEASE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0
      CEASE CEASE SMPF 1 0.0 0.0

I am still connected to my Sky ADSL and I have recently performed a speed-test, here are the results of it:

      Date 02/03/07 01:59:51
      Speed Down 6600.81 Kbps ( 6.4 Mbps )
      Speed Up 624.11 Kbps ( 0.6 Mbps )

In addition to that (I'm sure someone will ask) here are my ADSL Line diagnostics too:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 21.5 db
Noise Margin 11.8 db 14.0 db

Sorry for the long post but it should prevent people asking the obvious things. Also I have tried my account with other routers, still connects fine. Question here is do I need to worry about this and is it worth contacting Sky?

If so could someone pass the appropriate info relevant to this information?

      thanks in advance.

What does the 'PROVIDE SMPF TO SMPF MIG. ON TACTICAL' mean?
That is the order terminology for BT to move you over to Sky LLU (SMPF = shared metalic path facility)

As you are on a Sky IP on here, I presume all went well.

      Items in this order
Description Product name Quantity Cost Rental
CEASE LLU LINE SHARE PSTN 1 0.0 0.0
      CEASE CEASE SMPF 1 0.0 0.0
I would presume is cease your Tiscali line

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8096 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 35.0 db 21.5 db
Noise Margin 11.8 db 14.0 db
Shows me you are on Sky MAX

Re: Migrating from Tiscali to Sky Max [PROBLEMS!! NEED HELP]

      Hi NewsreadeR,

Yep, I am currently on Sky as we speak, I've seen a lot of posts relating to ADSL1 and ADSL2+ is it still possible my line could go higher than the 6.5Mbps?

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks again.
