      Angry I've lost 2mbit!

      Hi All,

      Hoping for some advice here. Over the last 1-1.5wks i've lost over 2mbit!

      For the last 4 or so months, i've had a steady 8mbit, on some occasions getting 8.8mbit.

      However, during the last couple of weeks it's got steadily worse. every few days packetloss would set in and a snr of <6 would be shown. with a reboot the sync speed would drop (snr increasing to ~7).

      Now though I cant get more than 6.5mbit during the day, and at night 6mbit is all thats achievable.

      Interestingly though, we had a powecut during the week, immediately following this it negotiated a >8mbit connection for the first time in a couple of weeks, shortly after packetloss though a reboot showed 7.3mbit, and later that night another reboot was necessary showing 6mbit.

      Surely this shows theres something dodgy on the exchange or some other dsl modem impacting the service somehow? I have a adsl faceplate etc.

      any help appreciated.

      right now;

      Re: I've lost 2mbit!

      guys - i dont know whether sky actually did read the 3 emails I sent over the last 3 days, or if BT looked at the fault report I sent (I realised the problems may have coincided with a repair on my other line).

      but this morning I was still sync'd at 6mbit, but with a SNR of 12! a quick reboot confirmed I now have my 8mbit back, with a reasonable SNR. lets hope it continues. cheers.

      spoke too soon. speed plummeted again this evening, nothing special running in my house which could cause it.
