      Re: is this right?

Ordered Broadband with SKY on 10th, Router arrived 26th, well worth the wait as I migrated from a very good ISP and I wondered if I had made the right move. Was on dial-up for about a week but was away from house so did not know on which date previous ISP terminated. Early days yet but so far, excellent.

      Re: is this right?

I have been told that Sky ask BT to do it on xx date.

What is meant to happen is

Sky ask BT to do it on the 15th.
Bt come back to Sky and say okay on say the 10th **
Sky release router to be there 2 days before live date.

      the problem is here **.

BT are not replying to Sky until after the change has taken place, meaning sky don't send the router out until later.

Is this BT trying to get their stats up to top notch. i.e. doing jobs before they are confirmed!

@ warmapple - Unfortunately that sounds about right. It seems that Sky will only send the router out once your line has been activated. Why they choose to do it this way is beyond me.

      Re: is this right?

You can cancel Sky Broadband within 8 working days of the later of delivery of your Sky Broadband box (if you are installing Sky Broadband yourself) or your installation by Sky In-Home Services Limited and the date your line is first activated by BT to receive Sky Broadband.

My Sky router came one week after phoning up to order Sky BB. The activation then took place a few days later. Everything went very smoothly.

      Re: is this right?

When speaking to Sky they tell me that it is th eConnect packages that the routers are going out on late, due to BT not replying to the order request.

      Re: is this right?

We reported this a few weeks ago, Sky have decided to send the routers out once you are connected, and appears to be only the Connect package that is affected.

As for the BT reason, thats feasible, as we never did find out the reason why.
